A primary helicopter flight control, mounted on the left side of the pilot's seat, that changes the pitch angle of all main rotor blades simultaneously and by the same amount. Raising the lever increases blade pitch on every blade together, producing more lift; lowering it decreases blade pitch on every blade together, producing less lift. It is the principal means by which the pilot controls the helicopter's vertical movement.
