Control inputs that, in an upset or unusual attitude, are the opposite of what instinct or normal flying habits suggest, but are correct for recovering the airplane. In Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), these are the deliberate, trained inputs a pilot must apply when the natural reaction would worsen the situation — for example, pushing forward on the yoke during a stall when instinct says to pull back, or unloading the wing before in a steep .
