Definition
The process of treating any aircraft structural members that will come in contact with doped fabric, applying a protective coating that prevents the dope from softening, dissolving, or otherwise damaging the underlying material. Typically aluminum foil, cellulose tape, or a clear protective lacquer is applied to the affected surfaces before the fabric covering is installed.
