A method of cooling an air-cooled aircraft engine in which cowling and baffles are arranged so that ram air entering the upper portion of the cowl is forced under pressure down between and around the cylinder fins before exiting through an opening at the rear or bottom of the cowl. The pressure differential between the upper and lower sides of the engine drives airflow through the fins to carry away heat.
