An absolute temperature scale used in engineering calculations, where zero degrees Rankine (0°R) represents absolute zero — the point at which all molecular motion stops. The Rankine scale uses the same size degree as the Fahrenheit scale, so a temperature in Rankine equals the Fahrenheit temperature plus 459.67.
