An FAA-issued airman certificate that authorizes a person to fly as pilot in command of an aircraft only while undergoing flight training, and only when specifically endorsed by an authorized flight instructor for solo flight in a particular make and model. It does not authorize carrying passengers, flying for compensation, or operating outside the limitations set by the instructor's endorsements.
