The standard, manufacturer-approved steps a pilot follows to operate an airplane during routine, non-emergency phases of flight, including preflight inspection, engine start, taxi, takeoff, climb, cruise, descent, approach, landing, and shutdown. Normal procedures are published in Section 4 of the Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH) or Airplane Flight Manual () and are to the make, , and equipment of the airplane.
